This pubblic art work NEEDLE,THREAD AND KNOT(2000) was commissioned by the city of Milan to CLAES OLDENBURG and COOSJE VAN BRUGGEN.The knot is place in the middle of the fountain in the middle of the square while the needle on the footpath in front of the NORTHERN RAILWAY STAATION.It's a tribute to Milan's influence in the fashion industry and to the diligence,industriuouness of the city.The red,green and yellow recall the colors of the MILAN METRO.
